Dear Readers:
I've read the reviews at Mobipocket and wanted to clarify a few things about BoWoS. First, my TARGET audience is indeed YOUNG ADULT/SF and of course those of us young-at-heart who enjoy these types of books.
A few have made negative comments about the adolescent dialogue - I assume the chapter where Jaric and Kyle discuss a possible solution to their "girl troubles" by cloning some women. I wrote this with the current controversary of cloning in our day in mind. And indeed, man has the power to clone a person at this very moment in spite of the serious ethical implications! But instead of contemplating this subject in a serious manner in a young-adult novel, I decided to use satire and hyperbole with a dash of humor in an effort to make us "think".
My other goal with BoWoS was to create a sense of wonder with Mother and her family and their ability to travel to distant and exotic worlds. I also wanted to inject more humor than found in MotherShip while retaining the adventure and a climactic finale.
I am glad most have enjoyed the sequel.
I hope this has helped to clarify things for those who did not realize both MotherShip and BoWoS are written primarily for young adults and the young-at-heart.
